CoP Winterschool 2013 – Homburg (Germany) – day 1

That’s it for the first day, may be not the busiest one of the whole week, but certainly the most tiring, as loads of small problems had to be sorted out! Finally, and after the audition right after breakfast, the first tuition day started! I opted for Robert Wallace’s piobaireachd class, an idea that has been on my mind for quite a while. So after this week, the classical music for the great Highland bagpipe shall not be such a big mystery anymore! After supper, we had the opportunity to attend Barry Donaldson’s lecture about bagpipe chanters and reeds, followed by a short maintenance session, held by Willie Park and Bill Geddes! And to finish off this first day, we had of course live music, a couple of guys playing their pipes! More to come, soon …ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
