Glasgow 2011 – a trip to the World Pipe Band Championships, and to the city where it all takes place!

Thursday, 11th August 2011 – I got problems updating this blog, as there’s too many things going on at the same time 🙂 three hours of individual tuition at the College of Piping, which is just great … besides that, I have to take care of my pipes, which means playing them, an hour a day!

Tonight we had the first band practice (College of Piping T&D Band) with all the “continental players”, so that was another two hours piping, just perfect. We started off with 16 pipers, didn’t sound too bad for a first rehearsal, I’d say. I’ll ask our pipe major Ian Watson tomorrow, if he feels the same! There will be two more band practices, and we’ll have to integrate the drummers, and get ready for Saturday morningü The day, when we all move over to Glasgow Green, trying to qualify for the Worlds!

I’ll be able to post some photographs of Glasgow, and some inside pictures of the piping world tomorrow … so stay tuned, there’s more to come!
