Pipefest Normandy 2011

So we made it back home safe, thanks to Olivier Thielen, who drove us all the way from Luxembourg to Caen, and return! This chap knows what driving is about, and even through heavy thunderstorms and loads of water on the highway, Olivier’s made it a safe and comfortable journey!

I would like to add a first series of pictures to this blog. Here are the ones taken on Saturday, 4 June 2011, early morning on “Sword” beach, some 15 km away from Caen, it was the ultimate goal of the 3rd Infantry Division, on D-Day. Amongst the British troops was Piper Bill Millin!

Piping was our tribute to him, on that same beach where he landed with Lord Lovat.
